01 Introduction
In the Dear G2G Friend pdf is the basic instruction for the whole program.
In character building coaching we consider the lesson done when we see your assignments accomplished:
1) Your quizzes
2) Your two brief outlines from the two parts of the video
3) Application of the lesson in your life in 3 short stories
4) Sharing your insight from the lesson with three friends.
Quizzes here are not like those in a school, where the goal is to show how good or bad you are. Instead, they are designed to help you see whether you have grasped the main ideas from the lesson. We don’t give a certificate for completing the course in the sense that, after 40 lessons, you are considered 100% or 70% Christ-like. Becoming Christ-like is a lifelong process, and this course is meant to help us become aware of it and actively participate in it.
Most people go through life passively, more or less slaves of circumstances. But we can learn to master the art of self-control, preserve the peace that only Christ can give, and remain calm even in the middle of life’s storms. Tough circumstances are not allowed by Christ to punish us—even when many of them result from our wrong choices or sinful lives. Rather, we can see these challenges as valuable tools in the school of Christ for our personal growth. They are, in a way, “crossroads” where we either harden our hearts by blaming others or ourselves, or we grow in nobility and humility by learning the lessons they offer.
Let us also remember that gospel truths can harden our hearts if they do not lead to salvation from harmful habits. Darkness in our lives is proportional to the light we reject. Even a bad quiz score can be discouraging, but it can also motivate someone to try harder and improve next time.
When we see your responses to the remaining three assignments mentioned above, we know your lesson is complete. Please do not move on to the next lesson before finishing your work. We want learners to be actively involved, not passive viewers. Your effort in this life-transforming process will be rewarded tremendously!
We have had a wonderful experience with one student who began this training by email. She initially struggled to share her thoughts from each lesson, but once she started, she wrote back about how blessed she felt and how she was able to touch the lives of others.
Why assignments? First, they show your progress. More importantly, they help you actively engage with the material and get the most out of the program. Instead of passively absorbing information, you are encouraged to apply character-building principles in your own life.
Enjoy every part of this character-building training. Thank you, and we wish you a lovely day with Jesus in your heart. His presence will brighten your life, the lives of your family members, and those you meet today.
Note: The blue “QUIZ” button appears throughout the course, but it is not always a graded quiz. It functions as a general “Next” or “Continue” button, leading you to the next activity—whether a quiz, reflection, or practice task. Check the section description if you are unsure what comes next.
