Romans  5:19
“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.”

CC 7
The lives recorded in the Bible are authentic histories of actual individuals. From Adam down through successive generations to the times of the apostles we have a plain, unvarnished account of what actually occurred and the genuine experience of real characters.

“If by one man’s offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. Therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.” These scriptures tell the story so important for every human being to know. On the one hand is presented the disobedience of Adam, with its consequences; on the other, the obedience of Christ. The garden of Eden was disgraced by Adam’s disobedience; but as by that one transgression many were made sinners, so by the obedience of One, many are made righteous.

Ephesians 2:3
Among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

Mathew 24:45
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season?

Acts 7: 9, 10
And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him and delivered him out of all his troubles, and gave him favor and wisdom in the presence of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

Titus 1:5
For this reason I left you in Crete, that you should set in order the things that are lacking, and appoint elders in every city as I commanded you.

cf. (KJV)…and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee.

Hebrews 7:28
For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever.

PP 48
The Sabbath was committed to Adam, the father and representative of the whole human family.

Note:
1) Adam was the legal representative of the entire race and as such his legal standing before God was to determine the legal standing of the entire race for by the law of representation the whole race was legally constituted in him.
2) Adam was the noble father of the entire race and as such his moral state (i.e. the condition of his physical, mental, and spiritual nature) was to determine the natural inheritance of the entire race for by the law of heredity the whole race was genetically constituted in him.

Adam was required to render perfect obedience to God, not only in his own behalf, but in behalf of his posterity. God promised him that if he would stand the test of temptation, preserving his allegiance to the Creator…, his obedience would ensure his acceptance and favor with God. He would then be forever established in holiness and happiness, and these blessings would extend to all his posterity. But Adam failed to bear the test. And because he revolted against God’s law, all his descendants have been sinners.

Adam sinned, and the children of Adam share his guilt and its consequences…

ST Jan 8, 1894
The fall of Adam was a terrible thing, and the consequences of his sin so fraught with evil that language cannot portray it. By his disobedience of the divine law, the world was thrown into disorder and rebellion. Because of his disobedience, man was under the penalty of breaking the law, doomed to death.

CG 475
As related to the first Adam, men receive from him nothing but guilt and the sentence of death.

ST May 19, 1890 (also FW 88)
Adam sinned, and the children of Adam share his guilt and its consequences; but Jesus bore the guilt of Adam, and all the children of Adam that will flee to Christ, the second Adam, may escape the penalty of transgression.

FLB 113 (for the original context ST June 6, 1895)
Those who… accept…Christ [as their personal Saviour] are looked upon by God, not as they are in Adam, but as they are in Jesus Christ, as the sons and daughters of God.
